Special Recycling Supplement in Sacramento Area Newspapers
The City of Galt along with the Solid Waste Working Group (representing cities and the County in the Sacramento Metropolitan Area) is participating in a special 8-page newspaper supplement on recycling contamination. The insert is scheduled for publication in Sacramento area papers over the next two weeks.
The purpose of the publication is to provide public education on the importance of clean recycling. New State laws are requiring jurisdictions to have an increased recycling diversion rate, while new international policies are limiting acceptable contamination levels for recycled materials. Residents are encouraged to read the insert and make appropriate changes in their recycling practices.
