BI-WEEKLY REPORT - August 10, 2018

POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Galt Police Department participated in the 35th annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 7. The department, along with City Council, City Clerk and City Manager visited all three locations (Meadowview Park, Marian O. Lawrence Library, and Galt Community Park). Activities included classic car shows, Coast Guard fly overs, and community dancing at each location, which is being used as a part of a video being produced by the police department. The City and Galt Police Department would like to thank the many community volunteers and the many who made donations as this year’s participation was outstanding. We look forward to seeing you next year August 6, 2019 for the 36th annual National Night Out event.

On August 1, the Sacramento County work project crew, supervised by our Citizens Assisting Police Services (CAPS), helped clean up the brush area along the railroad tracks from McFarland Street to F Street. The crew did a wonderful job cleaning up the area and collected enough trash to fill numerous large garbage bags.

The police department held oral board interviews for police officer candidates (laterals, graduates, and attendees) on August 8. Police officer recruit testing will be held on August 14. There are 60 applicants who are scheduled to participate. The department is also accepting personal history statement applications for lateral, graduates, and attendees and will be scheduling another round of oral board interviews in the beginning of September.
