BI-WEEKLY REPORT - September 7, 2018

POLICE DEPARTMENT
The police department will have a booth set up at the Galt Community Park Grand Re-Opening Ceremony on Friday, September 7. Representatives from the police department will be interacting with the community and providing public safety information.

PUBLIC WORKS
South Galt Safe Route to School and Rehabilitation/Bicycle/Pedestrian Project
At the September 4 council meeting, a significant change order was approved which will provide roadway rehabilitation on First Street between Crow Creek Drive and New Hope Road. The rehabilitation will include base repairs followed by a 2” asphalt overlay and striping. Work is expected to be completed by September 21.

Vegetation Management
If you see a herd of goats wandering along Deadman Gulch, the large ditch running south from Boessow Road east of Crystal Way, or in the drainage ditch running west of Industrial Drive near Cardinal Glass, you are not hallucinating. The City has hired a firm that grazes goats to clean the ditch banks of excess vegetation in preparation for the rainy season. This work will continue over the next few weeks. Bike lanes are not the only way the City is ‘going green’.
