Measure R Oversight Committee

This is an independent oversight committee to ensure that the funds are spent in a manner consistent with the provisions of the ballot measure. Qualifications: Must be a resident of Galt to be eligible to apply for committee membership. Current City of Galt employees, officials, contractors, or vendors of the City may not apply. The ability to serve a three year term and meet quarterly on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm.  The appointed committee member will serve a term ending April 2021.

 

Commission on Aging

The commission acts as a forum for any and all matters of concern to senior citizens of the City, and subject to the direction and approval of the City Council, to engage activities including convening voluntary associations for senior citizens, sponsoring or co-sponsoring community forums on topics of interest or concern to senior citizens. The ability to serve a four year term and attend one meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10:00 am. The appointed commission member will serve a term ending December 2022.

  

Galt Youth Commission

The purpose of the commission is to collaborate with City departments, community businesses and nonprofit organizations on matters pertaining to programs and activities for teens. The commission shall encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building civic unity. The ability to serve a four year term and meet the first Monday of the month at 6:00 pm in the City Council Chambers.  The appointed commission member will serve a term ending December 2022. 

 

Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito & Vector Control District

Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito & Vector Control District is in need of one resident to represent Galt. A Board of Trustees governs the district, each representing one of the incorporated cities or one of the counties within the district’s boundaries. A City Council or the County Board of Supervisors appoints each trustee. The goal of the district is to protect public health and welfare from diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. The appointed trustee will serve a two-year term ending December 2020. The district meets the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in Elk Grove.
