BI-WEEKLY REPORT - October 6, 2017
The department’s next Speaker Series will be Wednesday, October 18, 7:00 pm at the Galt Police Department, Anthony Pescetti Community Room, 455 Industrial Drive. The guest speakers are from the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office and will be discussing human trafficking in the local area.
Grizzly Hollow Apartments Neighborhood Watch Meeting will be Monday, October 23, 6:30 pm, 955 Beaver Park Way. This is a great opportunity to talk to your local law enforcement and other city officials regarding matters happening in the City.
On Thursday, November 16, the Galt Police Department is participating in the “Tip a Cop” event to help raise money for Special Olympics. The event will be hosted by Brewsters Bar and Grill, 201 4th Street. Police Department employees will be there to meet the community, answer questions and serve lunch from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and dinner from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Brewsters Bar and Grill will match donations received by the police department so stop in, enjoy a meal, give a tip and help support this amazing cause.

River Oaks 3-Carillion Blvd Construction
Construction is beginning on modifications to the Carillion Boulevard median from the railroad tracks north about 600 feet. In addition, the accessible ramps on the west side of the Carillion Boulevard/Vintage Oak Avenue/Ambrogio Way intersection will be upgraded. There will be lane closures and traffic controls during the one month construction period.
Fourth Street Complete Streets Project
Placement of a 12’ wide all-weather surface for vendor access, along the back of the ‘Promenade’ sidewalk (north of C Street), and a 40’ wide all-weather overflow parking surface adjacent to the new parking lot (south of C street) will commence in mid-October. Street lights are tentatively scheduled for installation during this same time frame.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT/BUILDING

Tenant Improvement Permits Issued
• Lodi Health Clinic, 387 Civic Drive.
• Dr. Damen Medical Office, 150 Lincoln Way.
• Matsuyama Sushi, 10420 Twin Cities Road, Suite 20.
• Structural steel and siding have been installed for the BMD Warehouse expansion project.
• Days Inn Hotel renovation is progressing and the concrete foundation is tentatively scheduled to be poured next week.
PARKS AND RECREATION
Staff trimmed 8 trees on Fermoy Way, 10 trees on the south parking lot of the Police Department, and 10 trees on the north parking lot of the Public Works Department. Bushes on Marengo Road and Lake Park Avenue were trimmed due to safety issues for pedestrians. Rotten boards were replaced on the horseshoe pit at Lake Canyon Park. Soccer lines were painted at Veterans Soccer Field.
The Galt Gators Swim Team will be hosting a fundraiser swim meet on Sunday, October 29, 8:30 am, at the Gora Aquatic Center, 630 Chabolla Avenue.
