LOCAL APPOINTMENTS LIST

APPOINTIVE TERMS

• Galt Parks and Recreation Commission
  Qualifications - An interest in the development and maintenance of parks and the establishment of recreational programs and facilities.  The ability to serve a four year term and attend one meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.

• Galt Beautification Committee
  No qualifications are necessary.  An interest to serve on the Committee for a term of four years.  The ability to attend one meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 3:30 pm.

• Galt Planning Commission
  Qualifications - An interest and desire to participate in the planning and development of the City of Galt and serve a four year term. The ability to meet once a month on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.

• Galt Commission on Aging
  No qualifications are necessary. An interest to serve on the Commission for a term of four years. The ability to attend one meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:15 pm.

• Historic Preservation Advisory Committee
  Qualifications - An interest and desire to participate in the planning and development of a Historic Preservation District in the City of Galt.  The ability to serve a three year term and meet once a month on the fourth Monday of each month at 8:30 am as needed.

• City/County Solid Waste Advisory Committee
  Qualifications - An interest and desire to act as an advisory body to the Sacramento Regional County Solid Waste Authority, the County of Sacramento Board of Supervisors, and the city councils of the cities of Sacramento, Folsom, Isleton, Citrus Heights and Galt on the following subjects: a) all matters relating to the County of Sacramento Integrated Waste Management plan and all of its planning elects and b) all matters relating to integrated waste management, including public education, source reduction, recycling, composting, transformation, materials recovery/resource recovery and marketing, and refuse and recyclable storage, collection, transfer, processing and disposal.  The ability to serve a two year term and meet once a month on a Tuesday in Sacramento.

• Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito & Vector Control District
  Qualifications - An interest and desire to participate in planning and development within the Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito & Vector Control District as a representative of  the City of Galt.  The ability to serve a two year term and meet once a month on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am in Sacramento.

•  Public Safety Committee The Committee is tasked with evaluating any public safety issues within the community brought to the Committee's attention by the City Council, City staff or residents, and making recommendations to the City Council. The Public Safety Committee is composed of eleven members, five of which must be residents of the City. The committee  meets bi-monthly at 6:00 pm at the Police Facility, Pescetti Community Room.

• Galt Youth Committee
  Qualifications - An interest in making recommendations to Council through staff, on areas of concern relating to the well being of the youth in the City of Galt. Meets the first Monday of the month at 6:00 pm in the City Council Chambers.

• Measure R Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee This is an independent oversight committee to ensure that the funds are spent in a manner consistent with the provisions of the ballot measure. Qualifications: Must be a resident of Galt to be eligible to apply for committee membership. Current City of Galt employees, officials, contractors, or vendors of the City may not apply. The committee will decide the meeting day and time.
