Water conservation is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone must use water efficiently in our daily lives. The City of Galt pumps water from deep wells throughout our City. With an extended drought there is the potential that we could run out of water.
Water demand in the summer months triples due to the increased consumption from watering of lawns and swimming pools. For example, in January 2013 the Water Division pumped 84 million gallons. This amount increased to 252 million gallons in July 2013. That amounts to over 10,000 gallons of water for every person in the City of Galt.
Here are a few tips that can help to conserve water on the interior and the exterior of your home.
