GALT MARKET RULES AND REGULATIONS

The Galt Market is wholly owned and operated by the City of Galt. It is unusual in the State of California in that regard, since most outdoor markets are privately owned. The Galt City Council has passed Rules and Regulations that govern the Market's operations and the actions of the vendors and customers. Since these rules are passed by City Council, they have all the force and effect of law. Vendors and customers are expected to abide by these rules in the best interest of the Market to facilitate smooth and safe operations for all.

EVERY VENDOR IS EXPECTED TO:

1. Complying with Market Rules & Regulations. Free copies are available at the Market Office, at the South end of he grounds.

2. Complying with the FIRE CODE. All set up must be within the white lines.

3. Complying with Federal, State, and local permitting and licensing requirements and laws.

4. Following directions of Market Staff.

5. Maintaining all Market grounds and equipment in good condition including Market electrical panels, pavement, etc.

7. Providing courteous customer service. Remember, positive word-of-mouth advertising is how you develop repeat business.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

1.       CONTACT THE MARKET OFFICE FIRST. The Market will call 911, and will direct emergency equipment to the necessary location. Precious time is lost when emergency equipment comes to the Office and staff does not know where to take it. Help us help you as quickly as possible!

2.       GIVE THE SPACE NUMBER NEAREST YOUR LOCATION TO THE OFFICE. It is located on the ground next to the white line in front of the vendor space. Market Staff will be sent to provide assistance until emergency equipment arrives.

3.       IF YOU FIND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS OR LIQUIDS ON THE GROUNDS, contact Market Staff who will be dispatched to clean it up. Keep your staff and customers away from the area until Market staff arrives.
