I graduated from high school in 1978 then entered college where I majored in administration of justice and criminal law. I moved to the Central Valley in 1985 and to Galt in 1997. I have always admired this community and its friendly people. I started volunteering my entertainment services as a disc jockey in 2005 at grand openings, sober grad nights and local festivals. Soon after, I joined with the Crime Prevention Coordinator from the Galt Police Department restarting the Neighborhood Watch Program. The program has been instrumental in reducing crime in our community dramatically in the last 5 years. I was then asked by TJ Guidotti if I would accept an appointment to Galt Crime Stoppers as Chairman of the Board which I accepted and currently still chair. In April of 2009, I was appointed by then Council Member Donald Haines to the Galt Public Safety Committee. I am also on the SARB (School Attendance Review Board) and NAB (Neighborhood Accountability Board) mentoring students to keep them on the right path and out of trouble. The old adage is true, “kids are our future”. I believe that we as a community have a responsibility to help kids who stray from doing the right thing and get them back to being a productive citizen. I want to encourage all of our citizens to get involved to help mentor these kids and be involved with your community. Being a part of making our town a better place is far better than sitting back and complaining while doing nothing. I also would like to challenge the community to attend council meetings or watch it simulcast live (the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month starting at 7:00pm) to be better informed about council and staff’s plans for the city. It is very important for me to get public input about what happens in our community. Please know that I am always open and available to meet so you can share your views and opinions. Please call the City Clerks Office at (209)366-7130 or call my office phone at (209) 366-7117 to make an appointment.
