CAPS is a volunteer program designed for civilan men or women over the age of 50 and who donate their time to making their community a safer place. This program provides an excellent opportunity for meeting people and, in some cases, forming long and lasting friendships. Typical CAPS duties may include:
Volunteers are required to complete 40 hours of training, which will include: first aid, CPR, traffic control, safe driving, basic law, radio procedures, gangs, narcotics, crime prevention, and more.
Graduates are provided uniforms and required to wear them while on duty in order to easily identify them as CAPS personnel.
